After the selling and bribery round, the game returns to the “Basic Course,” where the round track indicates the actions to be taken throughout the progression of the gameplay.

Gameboard & Round Track

The gameboard features 12 garages, each numbered from 1 to 12 and containing three item cards each. It’s unpredictable which garage will be offered for sale first from the auction cards, whether you’ve engaged in bribery for knowledge, or recall which player showed interest in the other garages, this information can be vital during the auction among your competitors.

The round track displays numbered steps from 1 to 24, indicating the sequence of auction bids alongside icons representing phases such as ‘Sell’ and ‘Bribery’ before the bidding continues. Additionally, there are three meeple icons that demonstrate how to move the token named Max when playing ‘King Bids Garage’ as three players.

Round Track Action

In the game of King’s Bid Garage, there are six icons on the round track, each representing an action to be taken throughout the game. The player in possession of the Sold Token will roll the dice & initiate the bribery action.

1. The first set, numbered from 1 to 24, represents the bidding rounds

2. The second icon, marked with 2x money, signifies two rounds of sales. Initially, dice are rolled; then, following another roll, players have the option to sell their items in either the first or second round, with the possibility of prices fluctuating up or down

3. The third icon, featuring a circle around the money symbol, indicates one selling round. However, you roll two dice, activating two lines on the Market Price List

4. The four icon, displaying three money symbols, signifies three consecutive rounds of sales

5. The fifth icons, indicating bribery actions, are now in play – proceed with the course of the game

6. The six icons signal a switch in the game: The Price Market List is now flipped around, and the bidding proceeds anticlockwise

Item Cards

The game consists of 72 item cards, each displaying 1 to 3 items found in the garages. Selling a card that features boxes will multiply the item’s value by the number of boxes shown (1, 2, or 3).

For example, if the Market Price List values a single box at 5,000, then a card containing two boxes would be 10,000.

The deck contains a combinations of 18 unique types.

The “Ash & Key Nothing” card is a unique item card in the game. Although it appears empty, it grants players 3,000 in cash for the bankbox and a complimentary full bribery peek during the selling round. This card can impact the players’ economy but also offers valuable additional knowledge. It can be advantageous or detrimental, as players may use it for their own benefit or to set a bidding trap for competitors, provided they have insight through the bribery action. A bidding trap can also involve the knowledge that a room contains items of low value, thereby driving up the bidding price with a poker face.

If two players decide to play the “Ash & Key Nothing” simultaneously during the selling round, the player who holds the Sold Token gets the first opportunity to look – Proceeding clockwise.

If a player acquires two “Ash & Key Nothing” cards in a garage, they must discard one and draw one random from the top of the item deck. If the player decides to save one and might acquire another one throughout the game, they can play the two cards in the selling round and take one random card from the top, when playing the bribery action.

Garage Cover

The garage cover serves two purposes: firstly, it hides your money and item cards from the other players view. Secondly, the inside of the garage cover features an infographic about the item cards, detailing the total number of each type, which can provide you with valuable knowledge as the game progresses. The deck will be shuffled after the first 12 rounds, and new cards will come out into the game again, so counting won’t help you completely but may give you an idea about the bidding risk value.

Auction Manager Max

In King Bids Garage, Max serves as your auction manager. You will engage with him on the gameboard to manage the round track and control the game’s auction bidding. He will be featured on the auction cards and have a visible Max token to move along the round track.

Auction Cards Max

Auction cards determine which garage number goes up for sale, meaning players never know which garage will be next. The 12 Max Auction cards, each with a key, correspond to the 12 garages for the gameboard.

Sold Token

The Sold Token indicates which garages are currently being bid on by placing this token on that garage from the auction cards. This token permits the player to select a garage first during bribery. Additionally, it designates who will initiate the next round of bidding, proceeding clockwise from the last garage winner.

Money Tokens

In King Bid’s Garage, the currency tokens have dimensions of (1 cm x 2 cm). Players begins the game with a value of 20,000, which may change to 25,000 after further playtesting. The player with the highest monetary value at the end of the game is declared the winner. However, second and third places are also recognized.

While engaging in multiple games, players may track their scores or profits from each game. As part of a game night, this competition can extend over several sessions. For example, after playing 5 or 10 games over time, the total profits accumulated can decide who will be crowned as the ‘Champion of King Bids Garage’ within the group, friends or family.

Market Price List

Whenever a selling round begins the player holding the Sold Token rolls dice according to the icons action from the round track. Example: Player rolls a 5, the dice is now placed on number (5) top. Players can then trace the lines downward from row 5 & the itmes to right line to view current selling price.

(5): Box 2,000 / Books 5,000 / TV 6,000 / Furniture 4,000 / Art Painting 8,000 / Jewelry 11,000. The (Red) numbers represent the lowest value for each item, while the (Yellow) numbers indicate the best possible current market price.
